From the District President
The Difference is … Water!”

A few years ago, as I drove from San Diego to Sequoia National Park, I was struck by the contrast I saw. On one side of the road, there were lush, healthy-looking orange groves; on the other side of the road, barren, desert-like conditions.  What was the difference? Water!!!

I couldn’t help but think of Psalm 1: Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”

Responding to our Lord’s invitation to “Go, and make disciples” begins with us drinking from the living water of our Lord’s Word!  Responding to our Lord’s invitation to “Go, and make disciples!” means showering the “living water” of His Word on those barren “lands.”

Imagine the fruit the “living water” will produce!  My friends: drink deeply … and often … of the living water and liberally share it with other parched people! Jesus promised the Samaritan woman, “Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of living water welling up to eternal life.”(John 4:14)

God’s grace and peace is yours in Christ!
